Expansion joints, also known as pipe compensation joints, are new products designed to connect equipment such as pumps, valves, and pipelines to piping systems. They are joined together using bolts to form a unified assembly with a certain degree of displacement capability. These expansion joints come in various types, including AY-type gland-type expansion joints, AF-type flanged loose-sleeve expansion joints, BF-type single-flange limited-displacement expansion joints, B2F-type double-flange limited-displacement expansion joints, BY-type gland-loose-sleeve limited-displacement expansion joints, CF single-flange force-transmitting joints, and C2F double-flange force-transmitting joints.

Definition
Expansion joints are primarily used during installation and maintenance, allowing adjustments based on the on-site installation dimensions. During operation, they can transmit axial thrust back to the entire piping system. This not only improves work efficiency but also provides a certain degree of protection for pipeline equipment such as pumps and valves.

AY-type gland-type expansion joint, AF-type flanged loose-sleeve expansion joint, BF-type single-flange limited expansion joint, B2F-type double-flange limited expansion joint, BY-type gland-type loose-sleeve limited expansion joint, CF single-flange force-transmitting joint, C2F double-flange force-transmitting joint, and others.
The AY-type gland-type flexible expansion joint is a device used to connect pipelines with a loose-fit connection, consisting of a body, sealing ring, and compression component. It is primarily used as a compensating joint that absorbs displacement but cannot withstand compressive or thrust forces.
The BF-type single-flange limit-type expansion joint consists of components such as a loose-type expansion joint and a limiting short pipe. It prevents leakage or damage to the compensating joint caused by excessive displacement of the pipeline. Primarily used for connecting loose-type pipelines that can absorb axial displacement and withstand pressure thrust within the allowable displacement range, this joint is suitable for applications where one end is connected to a flange and the other end is welded to the pipeline. During installation, adjust the installation lengths at both ends of the product to match those of the pipeline or flange, then tighten the gland bolts evenly in diagonal sequence. Next, properly adjust the limiting nut. In this way, the pipeline can freely expand and contract within its specified range, while the expansion amount is locked, ensuring safe operation of the pipeline.
The B2F-type double-flange limiting expansion joint is suitable for connections on both sides that are made with flanges.
The AF-type flanged loose-sleeve expansion joint is a device used to connect pipelines, consisting of a body, a sealing ring, and a compression component. It is primarily designed to absorb displacement and serves as a compensating joint that cannot withstand axial thrust or pressure. Working principle: After the loose-sleeve expansion joint is installed on the pipeline, tightening the nut causes the elastic sealing ring to compress against the outer circumference of the pipe under the action of the nut’s press cover, thanks to their inclined surfaces, thereby achieving a tight seal and secure connection. When temperature changes occur, the pipe can freely expand and contract within the joint; and when the foundation settles, the pipe can shift slightly while still maintaining a leak-free seal, thus achieving automatic compensation.
The CF-type single-flange transmission joint consists of a body, a sealing ring, a compression cover, and a short pipe flange component. It is suitable for applications where one end is connected to a flange and the other end is welded to a pipeline. During installation, adjust the installation length at both ends of the product to match the pipeline or flange. After installation and welding are complete, evenly tighten the compression cover bolts diagonally in a single pass to secure the joint, allowing for a certain amount of displacement. This feature facilitates easy adjustment based on site dimensions during installation and maintenance. In operation, the joint can transmit axial thrust throughout the entire pipeline.
Installation Instructions
Folding flange type: After the loose-type expansion joint is installed on the pipeline, tighten the nut to compress the elastic sealing ring. Under the pressure of the nut’s cover plate, the sealing ring is inclined and tightly pressed against the outer circumference of the pipe, achieving both sealing and connection. When temperature changes occur, the pipe can freely expand and contract within the joint; and when the foundation settles, the pipe can tilt slightly while still maintaining a leak-free seal, thereby achieving automatic compensation.
Single-flange limit: This type is suitable for applications where one end is connected to a flange and the other end is welded to a pipe. During installation, adjust the lengths of both ends of the product relative to the pipe or flange. Tighten the gland bolts evenly in a diagonal pattern, then fine-tune the nuts. This allows the pipe to freely expand and contract within its specified range, locking the expansion amount and ensuring the safe operation of the pipeline.
Foldable double-flange limiters: Suitable for applications where both ends are connected to flanges, this product allows you to adjust the connection lengths at both ends during installation. Tighten the gland bolts evenly in a diagonal sequence, then adjust the limiting nuts accordingly. This design enables the pipeline to expand and contract freely while precisely controlling the amount of expansion and contraction, thereby ensuring the safe operation of the pipeline.
Folding clamp type: Suitable for plug-in connections on both sides of the pipe, eliminating the need for welding. It features a rational design, reliable sealing, and quick and easy installation.
