Insulated flanges are primarily used between gas transmission and distribution pipelines and equipment such as gas pressure regulators, meters, and storage units. Their main function is to electrically insulate and isolate the various sections of the gas transmission and distribution pipeline as well as the connections between equipment and pipelines, thereby protecting them from chemical corrosion and extending the service life of both the pipelines and the equipment.

Insulated flanges are primarily used between gas transmission and distribution pipelines and equipment such as gas pressure regulators, meters, and storage units. Their main function is to electrically insulate and isolate sections of gas transmission and distribution pipelines as well as equipment from the pipelines, thereby protecting them from chemical corrosion and extending the service life of both pipelines and equipment. The product complies with the standard SY/T0516-1997, "Technical Specifications for the Design of Insulated Flanges."
Product Features
1. Possesses the electrical insulation performance required for electrochemical corrosion protection engineering of buried pipelines.
2. It should be able to operate reliably for long periods under the temperature and pressure requirements of the conveyed medium, with sufficient strength and sealing performance.
3. The structure is well-designed, and parts are easy to assemble, disassemble, and replace.
Structure and Features
The structure of the conventional Type I insulating flange consists of a flange insulating gasket installed between two butt-welded flat flanges, along with insulating sleeves and insulating bolt washers fitted onto the fastening bolts. The assembly diagram of this structure is shown in Figure 1. The materials used for the flange insulating gaskets include oil-resistant rubber-asbestos sheets, chloroprene rubber sheets, fabric-backed chloroprene rubber sheets, and polytetrafluoroethylene, among others. The insulating bolt sleeves and bolt insulating washers are made from high-strength phenolic laminated cloth boards and pressed cloth tubes. Its key features are: good rigidity, stable insulation performance, the requirement for a dedicated installation location, and relatively high manufacturing costs.
