Stamped elbows have been widely adopted and promoted across various fields and industries. Stamped elbows are formed using dies made from the same material as the pipe fittings, and then two semi-circular elbow halves are welded together in batches. The welding of stamped elbows must be carried out according to specific manufacturing and processing procedures. Since welding standards differ among various types of pipelines, these elbows are typically supplied as pre-assembled semi-finished products, and on-site construction involves welding according to the pipeline’s respective welding grade; hence they are also referred to as “two-half stamped elbows.”
Stamped elbows have been widely adopted and promoted across various fields and industries. Stamped elbows are formed using dies made from the same material as the pipe fittings themselves. Subsequently, two semi-ring elbows are welded together in batches. The welding of stamped elbows must be carried out according to specific procedures and processes. Since welding standards differ among various types of pipelines, these elbows are typically supplied as pre-assembled semi-finished products, and on-site construction involves welding according to the pipeline’s respective welding grade; hence they are also referred to as “two-half stamped elbows.”
Precautions for the Processing of Stamped Elbows:
1. After welding, stamped elbows exhibit high hardness and are prone to cracking. To ensure the quality of the weld, it is essential to select different welding electrodes during the welding process. If the same chromium-stamped elbow welding electrode is used, preheating at temperatures above 300℃ and post-weld slow cooling at around 700℃ must be carried out.
2. Stamped elbows exhibit excellent corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance. Their superior performance has facilitated their widespread application and promotion across various industries, including chemical engineering, fertilizer production, petroleum, and medical equipment.
3. Stamped elbows possess certain corrosion resistance, heat resistance, and wear resistance, and are commonly used as materials for power plants, chemical, petroleum, and other equipment. Chromium stainless steel stamped elbows have poor weldability; therefore, attention should be paid to the welding process and heat treatment conditions.
4. The coatings for stamped elbows come in two types: titanium-calcium and low-hydrogen. The titanium-calcium type can be used with both AC and DC power sources; however, when welding with AC, the weld penetration is shallower and the weld tends to turn red more easily. Therefore, stainless steel stamped elbows should, whenever possible, be welded using a DC power source.
